”“Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. For every persistent one will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.“
We’ve talked about how we all need to participate in our own rescue. This scripture reminds us that we have responsibility to participate in our own future too. James 4 tells us that we have not because we ask not. The Lord rewards and generously gives to those who seek Him, who seek to understand His ways, who desire and pursue the dreams that He has placed in our hearts. The key is once we pray and ask, the Lord may prompt us to take some kind of action. That action is the strategy or key to opening the door that we are pursuing. If we don’t follow through with the instruction we receive in prayer, if we’re not obedient to that, we may be missing out on the answer.
