Even though you’ve let us sink down with trials and troubles, I know you will revive us again, lifting us up from the dust of death. Give us even more greatness than before. Turn and comfort us once again.“
During a recent time of fasting and prayer that was coordinated by a group that many of you know I’m a part of, We the People Bayou Community, the Lord had me bring the entirety of Psalm 71 as a prayer to pray from the perspective of America as a nation. And I would encourage you to read it aloud as a prayer for our country as often as you can. In looking at this small passage of it, we can say without hesitation that the Lord has absolutely allowed us to sink down with trials and troubles. But let’s be men and women of faith who know just as definitively that He will revive us again. He will lift us up, and He is lifting us up from the dust of death. He will give us even more greatness as a nation and a people than before. And he is turning toward us to comfort us once again. We will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
